On the Farm

Thursday afternoon the Bennett family came up to the farm for a quick visit. The Bennetts are basically life long friends, so it was wonderful for them to come visit.

Before the Bennetts arrived we went up to the farm to clean a little. And while we were up there Ian let us shoot his air soft guns. He also taught me how to shoot a gun, since I have never shot one before.

Oh, and I also hit the target! Just kidding. I was awful. I don't think I even hit the tree once!

Damarise and I with the guns.

My beautiful, sweet, funny, and kind sister, Sarah. I miss her!

Now, as opposed to me, Sarah was an excellent shooter! She hit the 100! It was amazing!

Damarise, Ian, and Andrew. I just love my siblings!

Then the Bennetts arrived! We went out onto the frozen pond.

The lake was also completely frozen so we slid around on the lake.

While the Bennetts visited, we played many games: canasta, whoonu, sync up, catch phrase, spades, and estimation to name a few.

The younger Bennetts and Turnbulls... and me :)

We played Catch Phrase. Turnbulls versus Bennetts... the Bennetts won... both times. It was a ton of fun!

I am so thankful for such wonderful friends!

Speaking of Olympics

So, I thought I had posted this on my blog earlier, but now realized I didn't. Since we just visited the US Olympic Center here in Colorado, I thought now would be a good time to post this. This is our (Damarise, Sarah, Ian, Andrew and my) replica of the highlights of the Winter Olympics of 2010 :) Hope you enjoy.

Game: Rook

Game of the Summer: Rook!
We kids love to play Rook and since there are 5 of us and 5 person Rook is the most fun, we play it a lot :) If you haven't played Rook you should learn how :) It's great!

There's always fun included in the game :)

3 girls+2 boys= I love my siblings!!

Today we all tried to look our best for *drumroll please* our passport pictures! Yes, yes, yes, the time has come for us to renew our passports. Damarise got to be our passport picture photographer. We strung up a white sheet in the living room and smiled away :) After we were done with our passport photos we decided to snap a few of us siblings together :)

Damarise and I. Sisters, best friends, and twins at heart :)

Then along came Sarah. Ahh... hehe

Just kidding, we love her!!!!!

Next was Ian. Yay!! A brother!!! :D

And last but not least, Andrew!!! :D

Umm yah... we really do love each other... really! ;)

Yah, see there we go! Sibling-bonding-time-hug!! :)

The First Rain!

In the States we have winter!  Cold, hot chocolate, and my personal favourite, snow! Here, on the other hand, we have the rainy season. Hot, humid and the best part of all, the rain! The rainy season is, like the name, the season where it rains. It hasn't rained for the last... I think it's been 6 months. So, Damarise, Sarah, Andrew, Ian and I said that when the first rain of the season came we would go out and play in it. The first rain came last night!! It was wonderful! It wasn't pouring, but it was rain! And it watered the dry ground and cooled down the hot temperatures! And of course we played in it! ... Well, all of us but Ian. He was hanging out with Oupa Mike. :P

Here's the four of us enjoying the nice rain!

After a while we all went inside... but then it started raining harder. So Sarah, Andrew and I headed back out to enjoy the special treat! We had a blast singing, dancing, showing off our muscles :P (Haha!)  and just goofing off :D Thank you Lord for the rain!!!!

Writing

Today for school we had a writing class. All five of us together. It was basic. Very, very basic. :) But still fun to do. It's neat hearing how everyone puts their thoughts onto paper. Everyone conveys what they want to say in so many different ways.

Hopefully we'll be doing writing every day now for school! Yeah! I love writing, so this will be loads of fun. Can't wait!
Anyways, here's some quotes on writing that I'd thought I'd post as well.

"A synonym is a word you use when you can't spell the other one." -Baltasar Gracián
Haha SO true!

"The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say." -Anaïs Nin

"When something can be read without effort, great effort has gone into its writing." -Enrique Jardiel Poncela

When taking pictures gets a lil' wacky...

So far, Photo Booth has been entertaining for babysitting, boredom, and for just every day fun. Here's a glimpse of some wacky and slightly strange pictures that we took while hanging out as Woodbulls :)

Oh My! We are... weird!

AHH!!! Roller Coaster!!!

Ooo la la! Vee aw in Pari! :)

Aunt Julie came in and checked it out ;)

Haha, look at both Andrew's shirts!

Seeing double?

Uncle Charles also came to see what was happening ;)

And Kent came..

Wow! Look at Sarah's muscle!!

And Andrew... Well, he'll need to work on that one!
