What happens when you wake up in the morning to an email that classes are cancelled and lo and behold there is a blizzard outside? Of course, you rejoice, think about all the homework you can now get done, and then decide to skip breakfast because walking all the way up to the Great Hall in a blizzard just would not be fun. But then your stomach begins to growl and the blizzard begins not looking that bad. Then, what happens when you see that there is a milk truck stranded outside of your dorm building? Well, that is where this epic story beings.
I woke up this morning to the blizzard outside of my window. When Covenant College was definitely where we were going to be going to college I'd have to admit I was a little bit slightly bummed. Not because it wasn't going to be a great school! Ohhh no, that had absolutely nothing to do with it. I was bummed because it was in the South. Georgia of all places! And I knew Georgia would not get snowy winters. But God knew that I'd been missing the snow while in Mozambique so He has graciously blessed both Damarise and I with bucket loads of snow this winter :) I am SO happy! :)
Anyways, that is where the story begins. With snow flurrying to the ground and blowing wildly across the sky. We looked out the window in the commons to see a Mayfield's truck stuck right outside of our dorm. We joked about asking them for icecream. And then one brave soul from the hall next to ours was like, "Well, I'll ask!" She yelled down to the guys helping the Mayfield's truck get unstuck and the guys said they would ask the driver. The driver just replied with, "Maybe." So Diana, Damarise and Jen decided they'd go down and ask face to face. :)
They went out to brave the elements while we stayed up in our warm commons watching from the window. They asked the guy who owned the Mayfield's truck if they could have some milk....
Now, thanks to Diana's bravery and the generosity of the Mayfield's man we have milk to go with our cereal :)
I love all the fun adventures that a snow day brings :D
