Reflections in the Morning...

This morning in my quiet time I was reading in 1 Corinthians 12. What an amazing chapter talking all about the Body of Christ. It was just what I was needing. Have you ever seen some one and thought, "Wow! Look at so and so, they are doing so much to bring glory to God! And what am I doing?" I know I have. So, in reading this today, I was really encouraged.

God poured His Spirit into us as believers. We make up the Body of Christ. And He gave us each a gift. We don't all have the gift of preaching, singing, speaking a foreign language fluently, or knowing a lot of stuff. Paul gives a wonderful illustration in 1 Corinthians 12. He asks what would happen if a body just had an eye? How could it smell? The body can't function properly if it's missing a member of it. So Christ, in His infinite wisdom, gave us each different gifts to use to bring Him glory! So that, together, we make up the Body of Christ. No matter what part of the Body we are and no matter what our gift is, we need to be willing, not matter what the cost, to be used by Christ to bring Him and only Him the glory!

Speaking about this, I read this amazing article that kinda talks about the same thing, only better written ;) To read it you can go to it here.
