Photo Scavenger Hunt

You never know what type of hall event will take place on Imani. I've experience everything from watching "Planet Earth" to going to Swingfest with our brother hall. But this Sunday our hall did a hall event that may just be my favourite event yet – a photo scavenger hunt.

If you have never done a photo scavenger hunt:
a). You are missing out.
b). We should do one sometime!

Photo Scavenger Hunts are amazing! Teams are divided up and given a piece of paper with multiple "things to find or do" on it. Teams are given a time limit to complete the tasks given and the winner is the team who got the most accomplished.

Now enter Sunday. Sunday afternoon our hall teamed up with a guys' hall to go on a Photo Scavenger Hunt downtown. It was a sunny and beautiful Sunday afternoon, we had a great team, and lots of laughing took place (which is always great!).

Here's just a few of the crazy (and fun) things our team had to accomplish:

Roll down a grass hill.

Throw a paper plane off a bridge (don't worry we picked it back up).

Do a model pose... Lovin' Janessa.

Ask a stranger to serenade your team. Well, she didn't sing for us, instead she performed with these sock type things.

Take a picture with people from Covenant who aren't involved in the scavenger hunt.

Pose like a statue.

Take a picture with people in uniform. (Also, please notice how the park ranger is giving Jamila bunny ears. Haha.)

Do the Hokey Pokey in a public place. (This was so fun!)

Give a flower to a stranger.

Duck walk across the street.

Dance on the dancing sidewalk.

Kiss a mannequin.

Walk a stranger's dog.

A picture of your team on the glass bridge. (Yay! Team!)

A picture of your team on one chair.

A picture of your team looking relaxed.

A picture of something from Covenant (This shop is owned by Covenant grads).

Our team won! (Yeah!) And we had a great time, complete with sunburn and all.

Great time - check.
Fun pictures - check.
Sunburn - check.
Aloe Vera - hoping to buy some.
Awesome memories - indeed!

Soccer+Sunburn+Storms=September Saturday

Yes, everything in the title starts with an "S". :) But all those S's describe my Saturday perfectly. So, here are the S's of my Saturday :)

Soccer
I went down to watch the Covenant Scots play soccer. It was an amazing game. The Scots one 3-0. Yay! It was so fun. The crowd did a lot of different cheers, we were clapping, and just having a great time. :) It was definitely a fun afternoon!

The stands were packed!

Haha, Kevin, Micah, and Jonny in their Sweden or Canadian apparel.

Emily, Megan, and I watching the game :)

Sunburn
So, I went to the soccer game and had a great time. It was hot, but I didn't really think anything of it... that is, until I came back to my room and looked at my arm. Oops. The sun definitely baked me a tad bit.

Definitely a farmer's tan...er um.. burn.

Storms
I love rain! And thunderstorms, ah! They're even better :) When we came back from the soccer game I got busy cleaning my room when all of a sudden it began pouring rain! It was great! I ran into Megan's room and we went out to play in the rain :) Brianna joined us and we had a blast! It was like playing in the rain in Mozambique. So fun!

The rain building up on my window. So pretty!

Getting drenched in the warm September rain. Lovely!

That is my Saturday in a nutshell–Soccer, Sunburn, and Storms. It was a really great day filled with fun, laughs, and adventures :) Definitely a good September Saturday.

Five Facts For Fun.....

Thanks Amy! :) Amy picked my blog as one of the "most stylish blogs". So apparently, I have to list five random facts about myself.

Here are my five random facts:
•I went to elementary school in two different countries, high school in three different continents, and college on a mountain that borders two different states.

•I have a split uvula.

•It is a dream of mine to tour the world. I would love to go to every continent (yes, even Antarctica) and go to every European country.

•I love going barefoot ... if shoes weren't required for some places, I probably wouldn't even own a pair.

•Palindromes. My name is one (Hannah). The time I was born is one (9:09am). And the year I was born in is one (1991). :)

Now, I'm supposed to award five more people with this, but I think most of the people who read my blog have already been awarded. So, if you want to do this, please do :) I love reading random facts about people :)

Speaking of Olympics

So, I thought I had posted this on my blog earlier, but now realized I didn't. Since we just visited the US Olympic Center here in Colorado, I thought now would be a good time to post this. This is our (Damarise, Sarah, Ian, Andrew and my) replica of the highlights of the Winter Olympics of 2010 :) Hope you enjoy.

VBS

This past week, Damarise and I helped our Aunt out with VBS :) We had a lot of fun doing it and a lot of fun hanging out with our Aunt, Uncle and cousin :)

Amy (our helper), me, and Aunt Penny.

I got to teach the lesson every day. It was a great experience in teaching and I found out that I still would loove to teach 5th graders! They are SO much fun :)

While at Uncle Don and Aunt Penny's we did a lot of random fun stuff....

We went on walks :)

Damarise streaked Anna's hair red for soccer camp. (her team was England :) )

We went to Parkville–an adorable town! Damarise took a lot of fun pictures :)

It's a bell!

Mini Golf! We were going to actually go mini golfing, but we got there one minute too late.

Awww :)

Oh! We got to stand feet away from a moving train (something I've never done). It was SO cool!

Walking around the park :)

To sum up the week I'd say it was filled with fun, laughs and goofiness. It was a great week spent together :) Thanks Aunt Penny, Uncle Don and Anna!

Trip out West: Lake Tahoe (Random Moments)

Here are some photos of random moments during our stay in Lake Tahoe.

Sarah doing a puzzle.

The work place :) Uncle Skip and Aunt Janiece working on work. And Dad working on a speech he's giving in a few days.

Grandma was always working on a crossword puzzle and she usually had someone around her trying to help her figure stuff out. ( Google was really helpful ;) )

We played Apples to Apples with Grandma :)

Uncle Moe and his mom cooked most of the meals for us. Yum! :)

Almost everyone watching America's Funniest Home Videos.

We celebrated Aunt Sandra and Uncle Moe's 25th Anniversary while everyone was there. (It was a surprise celebration)

Cutting the cake.

Uncle Skip and Aunt Janiece.

Eating the cake. Yum!

Everyone was telling old stories. :)

Damarise and I made a movie for Aunt Sandra's and Uncle Moe's anniversary (Thanks to help from Aunt Janiece and Julia for title and songs!)

Awwww :D Happy 25th Anniversary!

Trip out West: Colorado (Day 3)

Our last day with the Shaffer family :(.

We started off the day hearing that Uncle Don, Aunt Penny and Anna were gunna come over and visit before they headed on their way to Lake Tahoe.

Anna got to ride the horses.

What a special treat! :)

Sarah was thrilled to be able to ride a horse.

Horses are her favourite animal and as you can tell by her face, she was loving being with them!

Ian had fun too.

After Uncle Don, Aunt Penny and Anna left the rest of us went on a walk to visit the cows.

Then this group decided to trek out through the forest... yah... the brave group.

While we girls walked back up to the house.

Sister picture :)

I just thought this bird house was cute :)

We decided that we were going to go into town to look around and go to the rodeo. But before we left Raley saw that one of the neighbor's horses was stuck in the barb wire fence. Ouch! Tara and Doug went over to rescue it :)

Then we headed into town to watch the rodeo. It was the first rodeo that I have ever seen :) It was an experience :)

Sam, Ian, Raley and Sarah watching the rodeo.

After the rodeo we went around the town. What a cute town! It has all these adorable signs and what not and we just had to take pictures.

I love the snowflake on this sign!

The Gondola and ski lifts.

Damarise taking pictures with quite the audience watching her.

And boy oh boy! What a beautiful picture!!!

It's nice of them to explain why we should stay off the grass :)

Looking at the sign that shows all of the ski slopes! WOW! There are a ton!

This sign is so cute! :)

An old clock.

Steamboat Springs.

Yep! They are a ski town. I've never seen a sign like this in any other town.

Sam was taking a picture of something with my camera :)

Another one of Damarise's artistic shots.

Window shopping... er... uh... glancing.

I looove the hangers on this sign.

Yum!

Mmmm, so many sweet treats!

Jelly Belly Jellybeans. Yum yum!

Oh! This was really cool! The street lights would tell you how much time you had left to cross the street.

19 seconds left! Better hurry!

Ride 'em Cowboy!

Will he become her Prince Charming?

They share a birthday! :)

Hahaha!

Ben and me.

Listening to Mark Twain.

I love these stars!

Coffee shop signs always seem to be super cute!

What a quaint town.

We then went to eat at a Mexican restaurant.

Haha, Sam...

Basketfaced Sam.

What a great dinner and a fun night!

Thank you Shaffers for the fun weekend with you guys!! And for letting us spend three nights with you guys! We had a wonderful time!
