Last Sunday at SIL

It still hasn't hit me that we really are leaving Nampula soon. This Sunday at SIL was our last Sunday there. It sure didn't feel like it. But we snapped lots of pictures and took loads of videos...For memories sake :) And for blogging too ;)

Here we are waiting for Sarah and Gracie to come back with the key to the conference room. (Where we have the Sunday night fellowship)

Gracie unlocking doors :)

Thomas setting up his drums. He is an amazing drummer! He has been playing for over 3 years now (I think) And just keeps getting better and better at drumming! It's really neat to see him use his talent to praise God! Great work Thomas!

Damarise and Haddie (Esther) Awww!

Andrew setting up the speakers.

Sarah and Haddie drew a picture of Annie... and then blamed it on Damarise and Bethy :P haha...

Me fixing up the slideshow.

My beautiful older sisters. Damarise and Bethy.

Haddie, Bethy and Damarise. God has blessed me abundantly with amazing friends and sisters!

Beverly! :D She's so pretty!

All my lovely sisters!! What can I say? I have the most amazing sisters in the world!

A bunch of girls :) Sarah, Gracie, Beverly, Damarise, Bethy, Celine, Esther

Mr. LePoidevin (Thomas' dad) He has helped us with music ever since we started playing for church. We couldn't do it without him! He tells us when we are going to fast. When we need to sing louder (like ladies with bright red lipstick ;) ) And he encourages us and prays with us. He is a wonderful leader :) Thank you Mr. LePoidevin!

The testing of the sound. We go around the room and test the microphones, piano, drums, bass and guitar to make sure that everything sounds good :)

Benaiah and Andrew... being brothers :P

Singing :)

Haddie :) She videotaped for us since Damarise was doing the piano and I was clicking through the slides :) Thanks so much Haddie for all your help!

Singing and talking about how we should arrange the song :)

After we were done practicing and before church started, Kent sat down to play the piano and got a crowd of lil' boys :) It was SO cute! :D

And that is all for the pictures...and for our last Sunday at SIL. I'm going to miss it!

She did it!

Yes, yes, yes! Sarah Ellen, my amazing, talented, little sister played her flute last night for the Missionary Fellowship! :D The first time ever! Yeah Sarah! She did an amazing job playing "Silent Night" and hit every note perfectly. It was really pretty. Great Job Sarah!!! I hope you'll be playing it more often now!

A Kiddie Day

Today was a day full of kids! This morning Damarise and I headed down to the VI office to watch all the VI kiddos who don't go to the SIL school. We had fun :) The kids are always a joy to hang out with and can put a smile on my face :)

Noah and Camiel found and captured a gecko. I felt so bad for the poor little gecko. He was being squished! After about a half hour of holding and playing with him they let it go :)

Cute Crocs! Pep, one of the nice stores here, got in a bunch of them and most all the mom's went to buy some for their kids :P

Emily was telling me what she got for her 5th birthday. Her favourite present was a bag of straws! :) Hehe, so we were talking about how cool straws are and what our favourite coloured straws are. :)

An artistic shot of Damarise's capri buckle. Nice one Damarise!

Aw! Three happy friends! Emily, Renata, and Asher.

Happy!!! :D I love Cohen's face!

Nora and Noah digging out a whole... or getting "chocolate" for their chocolate factory.

Renata eating snack.

Popcorn! Mmmm

Cool water bottles!

Damarise's eyes... :P

Feet feet feet :)

Yeah! Christian smiled and laughed this time!!!

The cooks and workers for the "chocolate" factory.

Smile :D

At 11:30 we came back home from babysitting, packed lunch and headed to SIL to watch the kids during their lunch break. At 1:30pm we taught the 1st and 2nd grader's art class. It was fun!!

At 2:30pm school got out and Damarise and I hung out at SIL 'til 4pm when Ms. Charity and Ms. Sharon came with their kids for us to watch while they walked around the track.

Asher is strong! He could swing on the rope really well!

Noah, Camiel and Thomas digging for gold :P

About 5:30pm we came back home :D It was a long day (and totally wore me out!) But it was worth it! Kids are so fun!!! :D

A Week of Child Care

Last week, Damarise, Esther and I bravely took on the task of doing child care for SIL during their conference. Doing child care meant watching the kids from 8am-12:45pm and then from 2pm-4pm. Those were long days, but we had some fun :)

We did puppet shows & skits. Esther was great at both ;) She's a great actress!

The girls (Abby, Emily and Susanna) put on a puppet show for us and just played with the puppets. Later on in the week we made puppets together for craft time.

Some outside time. It was cool the first day, but after that the sun was scorching hot. So the first day we enjoyed the outdoors. (They should really make the play house doors bigger ;) )

Aaron. A cute lil boy, but he cried all the time! After the second day his parents kept him with them.

Esther and Abby playing in the play house.

Damarise, Esther and I built the kids a tent! So fun, but it didn't hold up for long.

Lunch time. The first day's lunch was good! Grilled chicken!

We stumbled upon not one, but two boxes of dress up clothes. We couldn't resist ;) We dressed up while the kids were in with their parent's singing and then put on a skit for them.

Damarise is Asian :) And I love Esther's face! Haha!

It was so much fun! :)

I love bubbles! The night before at Zoe's goodbye party she was getting rid of stuff and I found a bottle of bubbles, so of course while watching the kids I took out my bubbles and started blowing. :)

I found a Santa Clause hat and a white beard ;) "Ho Ho Ho, come sit on my lap and tell Santa what you want..."

Abby, such a princess! She is very petite and always walks around on her tip toes :)

She feels the same way I do about studying for the SAT.

Some of the kidos drissing up :)

Damarise and Esther taking a break.

We had a contest to see who could dress up the weirdest. I think Susanna won that one by far!

Helping the kids put on their costumes.

He looked adorable in his outfit.

Lil' Ms. Emily.

Abby and Susanna waiting to be judged in the "Most Beautiful Outfit" contest.

Sisters! Emily and Abby.

Damarise with the two lil' blonde sisters :)

Abby always wants to help with the younger kids. It's so sweet to watch.... but I don't think Fin enjoyed walking in high heels ;)

Fin was on my lap swinging and fell right to sleep. Aw... so precious.

We had brought more bubbles for the kids to blow too... we did share them ;)

We did a skit on Queen Esther (Guess who was Queen Esther?? ;) Esther!) So afterwards the girls made crowns.

We watched some old kids movies. Like the Donut Man and Psalty. Haha they were hilarious to watch. Damarise and Esther decided to dance like the kids in Psalty :) Way to go guys!

And that's the end of our week of child care. We had fun getting to know each other better, goofing off, and taking care of the kids :)
